I'm a cis-female, lesbian psychologist with 25+ years of experience, including 15 years in community mental health where I treated all sorts of presenting diagnoses and problems. Now I see people who tend to be less stressed than that population, because I have a small part-time practice without great emergency backup. Please see my website for more information on how I think about therapy and how to tell whether I might be the right therapist for you, or not.
I have experience and enjoy working with all aspects of LGBTQA, no experience with I, but have worked with non-binary people. I'm kink and poly reasonably knowledgeable, and interested in alternative communities re: interest (anime, spirituality, etc.) as well. I use a lot of humor in my work, as well as a compassionate, respectful and practical approach. I work well with all sorts of presenting problems--not just those related to identity or life--and work best at this point with people who have lower acuity needs.
I have a small practice, three afternoons a week, so I often don't have a spot open. However, I prefer to work with the above kinds of people so I prioritize those requests when I do have time. I am in-network for BCBS, and take out of network and Medicare plans.
Please e-mail. I promise to check my voice mail weekly, but I often don't do it. I do respond to e-mail very quickly!
