I provide counseling services in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner. i believe that a trusting relationship between client and therapist is crucial to the therapeutic process. I treat both individuals and couples. My philosophy in working with the BDSM community is as follows:I continue to read and learn about BDSM • I am comfortable in talking about BDSM• I'm comfortable asking questions about BDSM• I strive to help clients overcome any associated shame and stigma (if that is an issue with the client)• I have an attitude of open-mindedness and acceptance• I do not expect clients to provide all the education for me• I understand ‘safe, sane and consensual' BDSM• I understand the distinction between abuse and BDSM• I strive to appreciate the complexity of BDSM play• I understand that some clients may need help to explore and establish if ?they are using BDSM in a positive way• I understand that some clients may be exploring their identity in the BDSM community and I am committed to not attempting in any way to influence anyone's decision in that regard
