I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, families and couples, including gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and alternative lifestyle couples. I received my training in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University and completed post-graduate certificate in sex therapy from the University of Michigan. My therapeutic approach originates from a systemic view of relationships and development. Some modalities that I may utilize include Experiential Therapy, Solution-Focused/Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Transgenerational/Bowenian Therapy. I believe strongly in a strength-based approach and that anyone can benefit from support and a nonjudgmental perspective during difficult transitions and experiences.I believe in addressing underlying issues instead of treating symptoms in relationships/families. I provide therapy via Skype and phone to clients who prefer these formats. The initial consultation sessions are conducted in person, and the client must physically be in NC when services are provided.
