It seems that the personal is inevitably political once a uterus is involved. So long as it is a radical act to control one's own body, I am here to support people as they navigate how to do so. I doula as an act of solidarity for folks facing all sorts of systemic oppressions-- sexual and identity discrimination included. A sampling of the services I offer:- hand-holding at healthcare appointments- advisor on strategies for informed medical consent- support in drafting and revising birth plans- a sounding board and listening ear when making tough decisions- a treasure trove of facts about pregnancy, birth, infancy and early childhood- researcher on-call for studying things you and I don't yet know- prompt apologies, as needed (because we are all soaking in oppression 24/7, and I do make mistakes) Email me if you'd like to talk about how we might collaborate.
