Kink / BDSM / Alternative Relationship Friendly Counselor

Name of Primary Practitioner
Alicia Patterson
Business Excerpt
As a therapist, I see my job as helping you. My hope is to support you in being able to explore and work on concerns that are impacting your life, work, and relationships. I am friendly / aware / and educated / experienced in the fields of the BDSM / Kink / Alternative Relationship worlds and feel that people in these communities need assistance just as much as everyone else. Many therapists want to be but cannot fully embody being sex-positive and talking about areas that push their comfort zones. I enjoy bringing openness about these areas into the therapeutic relationship. The areas that challenge you to grow but are safe enough to bring into a therapeutic setting. My intention is to provide a space that is safe & accepting so that a sense of balance between freedom and stability in relationship to oneself and others is available. I have a degree in Somatic Psychology and am a registered Dance Movement Therapist. I've been in the field of counseling since 2011. I specialize in working with people who are pregnant, birthing, creating a family, and want to experience vitality in their relationships. I'm trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic models, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt, Birth-Related Psychotherapy (I'm trained as a birth doula), sexual & relational health, and different developmental movement practices. I serve on the Board of the Local Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Dance Therapy Association in Colorado.
