(Secondary location in the Loop at 122 S. Michigan Ave., Ste 1433, Chicago, IL 60603)I launched Curiosity Counseling to promote compassion, non-judgment, exploration, and curiosity toward both oneself and others. Therapy without curiosity can feel scripted, uncritical, or like maintaining the status quo. I am especially passionate about working with "sexual minorities": folks in the LGBTQ community, kinksters, and intentionally nonmonogamous partners. I also find couples' work and working with teens and their families extremely rewarding. As a therapist I have just over 4 years' experience working in diverse settings: a family counseling agency, walk-in LGBT peer counseling center, public middle school, and private group practice (before choosing to venture out on my own). I currently exceed the Illinois marriage and family therapist licensure requirements for clinical (face-to-face), supervision, and total work hours and await department approval to sit for the national licensing exam. I practice independently but do receive clinical consultation for my work. During supervision appointments, every effort will be made to respect your privacy and personhood, keeping your case information confidential.
