Dr. Oak is Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist (LMFT - KY/IN), Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW-IN), Certified Sexologist, Certified Kink Informed Clinical Professional (CKICP). Sex and Alt. Sex Life/Relationship Coach. He believes his life work is to assist humans to find success, fulfillment and the ability to live inter-connected, rich, deeply intimate, powerful and pleasurable lives, with a special emphasis on personal and sexual authenticity. As a sex positive clinician, coach, educator, mentor, trainer and relationships expert, he honors his beliefs and his values of authenticity, curiosity, practice, commitment, integrity, connection, eroticism and synergy in his work. Dr. Oaks inspiration comes from many traditions including power dynamics, mysticism, Tantra, various spiritual paths including Christianity, Buddhism, Deism, and Native American spirituality resulting in a perspective that is broad and deep. This allows him to provide a setting in which clients have the opportunity to access their own inner resources and wisdom. With over 11-years experience in marriage and family therapy, and as a graduate of the University of Louisville, Kent School of Social Work, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy and former adjunct professor, and educator, he is currently serving as a private practitioner working with couples, families, and individual adults, and adolescents. Among his areas of expertise are Couples Therapy from an Integrative Therapy approach, Family Therapy, Polyamory, Alternative Relationship Lifestyles, Pre-Marital Counseling, Sex Therapy, and Individual Therapy around both individual and relationship issues. He is a Kink Aware Professional (KAP) experienced provider of services for individuals, couples, and families dealing with emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues including alternative lifestyles (kink, BDSM, consensual non-monogamy, open-marriage/relationships, and polyamory); infidelity; anxiety; depression; grief and loss; isolation and loneliness; life transition; self-esteem, and stress management. In addition, he has earned PHD in the field of social work with research interests in the fields of gerontology, human sexuality, intimacy, relationships, Kink/BDSM, and masculine studies. Having studied a variety of spiritual paths, including the mystical paths and wisdom of the great spiritual teachers, Dr. Oaks perspective is broad and deep. This allows him to provide a setting in which clients have the opportunity to access their own inner resources and wisdom. Methods such as hypnosis, visualization, meditation, psycho-spiritual tools, aromatherapy, communication processes, acupressure, Hoshin-Do, naturopathy, journal writing, are individually tailored for each person and their specific needs and goals. With his diverse training and background, Dr. Oak has an ability to address the key issues in peoples lives and to assist them to create a life with more peace, joy and fulfillment.
