I provide individual and relational therapy for people of all orientations and identities including, LGBTQIA, POC, Fetish, Kink, Consensual Non-Monogamy (including open relationship, polyamory, swinging, etc) as well as heterosexual and monogamous. I work with issues around sexuality, mood (depression, anxiety), relationship challenges, self-esteem and conflict avoidance. I have a background in trauma-informed therapy, working with survivors of recent or past trauma. I have an eclectic approach, drawing from mindfulness, depth psychology, body-based interventions, gestalt and process-oriented approaches. I believe compassion for self and acceptance is key to creating a safe space for allowing your unique self to flourish. In working with sexually marginalized populations I realize that sometimes sexuality may be the topic of therapy and other times you may just want to talk about whats going on in your life, without being shamed or told your sexual practices are "at fault". I honor where my clients are in their process. I also believe that many alternative sexuality practices may lead to opportunities for growth in other areas of my clients lives. I am active in the local Kink and Poly aware therapist in the area, providing training and consultation to other therapists as well.
I have been trained in sex therapy, am in the training program (year 2) for Somatic Experiencing. I have been part of the group of practitioners who created the Kink Practice Guidelines and offer training to therapists and other medical providers on who to effectively work with CNM and Kink populations / clients.
