Stefanie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida. In addition, she has advanced training in clinical hypnosis, mindfulness meditation, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, counseling polyamorous clients, trauma informed care, kink, and EMDR. She has worked with individuals in the kink and poly community since 2011. Stefanie is also in the process of completing training to be considered a sex therapist within the state of Florida. Drawing from her own experiences, Stefanie recognizes that professionals are not always well informed on the needs and experiences of the kink community and their biases can lead to harm. This has lead her to conduct research and trainings for the counseling community to provide education, challenge biases, and develop best practices for counseling the polyamorous and kink communities. Stefanie believes that being kinky is not a pathology, nor is is a dysfunction to be changed, but is instead a way in which many individuals experience growth, connection, and healing in their relationships. She encourages clients to be authentic in their desires as they explore, provided they are practicing RACK. Stefanie is a military veteran, serving a tour of duty in Iraq, and finds that these experiences have also helped her connect with many members of the kink community who have similar backgrounds. It would be an honor to support you on your journey to growth and meaning in life, whether in person in our Maitland, FL office, or through video conferencing on our secure telehealth system (available to residents anywhere in the state of Florida).
