Why I coach
I coach because I love it, I’m damn good at it, and it’s one of the things I can do to improve the world.
Yes, I am a career coach but I provide a lot more than just career guidance. I support you as a whole, beautiful human with a complex history and evolving hopes and dreams – not a cover letter and résumé. (But we can definitely work on those, too.)
I firmly believe the concept of “work/life” balance is, pardon my language, bullshit.
“Work” is not something to be balanced outside of life; it’s a large part of it, and it looks different for everyone. Our lives “at work” are inextricably linked from the rest of our existence. I believe that the denial of that interconnectedness can be a damaging product of capitalist, ableist views about our value as human beings. It often means we have to deny something about ourselves in the name of professionalism or productivity.
I’m out to destroy that notion by healing others’ relationships to their work as part of themselves – whatever that looks like. So, that’s where the “holistic” part of my practice comes in.
