I am a licensed clinical social worker in CA, MA, and Florida. I have been a therapist for over 20 years having the privilege to help people overcome their obstacles. I specialize in working with stress management, anger, anxiety disorders, addictions, difficult phase in life, change of life issues, grief, and mood disorders.
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision and a good fit is necessary to make effective change. I am a kink aware, sex positive, and sex worker friendly therapist who will be able to provide you with non-judgmental therapeutic services you are looking for. I feel strongly that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of successful treatment. I relate to people on a personal and humanistic level and it is important for my clients to feel comfortable, safe, and supported.
I tailor my session to the needs of you but I am also proactive and work with you collaboratively as a team. I have a multi-modal approach to therapy using Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is one of my favorite approaches because it is universal and teaches measurable techniques that are known to be successful in the treatment of stress, anxiety, addiction, and depression.
These techniques can easily be used everyday to help deal with life's challenges.
During sessions we will explore the issues that concern you and work together to implement a plan to lead you to a more fulfilling life. The goal is to give you the tools to emerged feeling stronger, more empowered, and self aware.
I really look forward to meeting you and having the opportunity to work together.
Life’s transitions may cause depression, anxiety, stress, conflicts with loved ones or colleagues, and/or anger. To find relief, people may turn to repetitive routines, unproductive coping strategies, limited belief systems, preoccupations, or addictions.
My therapy style, although eclectic, focuses on Mindfulness and Cognitive/Behavior Therapy (CBT) approaches.
CBT is a form of therapy that involves a range of techniques aimed at altering patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and in turn, emotions. It is a collaborative approach between the client and therapist that utilizes evidence based techniques that can be successfully applied to a wide range of psychological problems from anxiety disorders, depression, through to eating disorders and substance abuse/dependence.
Ideally, the therapist and client operate as a team in tackling the client's problems utilizing practical techniques that empower clients with strong powerful tools and concrete ways to heal.
I believe counseling is a product of good therapeutic connection along with practical, measurable evidence based tools that offer concrete ways to not only provide relief and heal but to build new possibilities.
