Hi! I’m Jasper. I’m a queer expressive arts therapist and community arts facilitator. I use my imagination to stir up creative things.
Whether you’re an artist, want to incorporate more creativity into your life, or are scared of art and think you're "bad" at it, expressive arts therapy can support you in living your best creative life.
In sessions, we might explore visual arts, writing, theatre, digital art, music, dance, singing, fashion, mindfulness, drag, or anything and everything that piques your curiosity. We might play together, or we might talk about whatever's on your mind.
I draw from my own living experiences and education to support people in navigating mental health difficulties, relationship issues, living with and resisting oppression, identity, trauma, self-expression, life changes, existential and spiritual questions, coming out, grief, and other challenges. I use a strengths-based approach, meaning I don't diagnose, or focus on what I think is 'wrong'. We start from where you find joy and power, and your life story, in your own words. You're the expert.
I’m genderqueer, queer, bisexual, kink and poly knowledgeable, and have living experience of sex work, ADHD, neurodivergence and mental health. I use a harm reduction lens. I am a white settler, and strive to educate myself so that I can be more anti-oppressive, recognise when I perpetuate harm, and make repairs, in and out of the therapy space.
I am also co-founder of Queerscapes, an expressive arts collective that aims to re-envision mental health through community and the arts. We offer affordable groups, drop-ins, events, and individual therapy. For more information, click here.
I offer online and in-person therapy in Canada and internationally. For more information, check out my website, instagram or email me. I hope to create, empower and play with you!
