I specialize in reducing anxiety, improving relationship dynamics, facilitating a deeper understanding of family issues, and assisting and supporting you through life transitions. I have a lot of experience with the LGBTQIA community, people in non-monogamous relationships, and young adults. I will help you to identify what is holding you back and how to better move toward what you want in life. Together we explore how your personal, familial, and cultural history effects your present life. We look at this closely, in order to gain insight into why you do what you do, so that you are able to live a more fulfilled life. We will work together to understand your life more fully, so that you are better able to live the life you want to live.
My therapeutic approach is to help you explore the root causes of your challenges and/or symptoms. My work is grounded by the principle that our past directly impacts our present lives and that through increased understanding, awareness, and insight we are able to gain greater control over behaviors and patterns that may be holding us back in life. I also work through a social justice and anti-oppression lens and think it's necessary to acknowledge the way oppressive systems harm us. In addition, I emphasize sitting with and experiencing a full range of emotions based on our experiences. Through an honest and complete experiencing and articulation of our emotions, we are able to heal, change, and grow.
