I am a sex positive clinician, with a particular focus on sexual trauma and domestic violence. I draw influence from multiple modalities including trauma informed, IFS, CBT, DBT, and somatic experiencing. I believe in the need for therapy to be holistic, with an awareness of cultural influences that may be deterring you from your truest expression of self. Those hardwired messages can be worked with; we can find where they originate from, while introducing new possibilities, leaning into uncomfortability, defining and developing boundaries that feel most nurturing to you, while exploring what you truly desire.
Trauma can impact your ability to trust yourself, relationships, individuals, and your general ability to function. Whether you're having panic attacks, or struggling with trusting your intuition, we can develop resources to nourish you, identify triggers, and get you to a place of LIVING. I have experience and enjoy working with diverse cultural backgrounds, gender identities, from adolescents to seniors, whether in crisis, or looking to better self regulate on a consistent basis. I also enjoy working with monogamous and non-monogamous couples, and family units seeking harmony as a member of that unit is questioning an aspect of their sexual lifestyle or gender identity.
I believe our bodies are key to telling us what we need, want, and what we are doing that is of disservice to us. Many often think that they are not capable of listening to themselves on that level, but in truth, that capability has always been available, it's just about nurturing the tools that allow us to listen. It's truly amazing the good that self compassion can do.
