Relationships take work.
Every successful relationship requires that both partners choose on a daily basis to be self-less, to be kind, to be patient, and to be committed. It requires open and honest communication, even about the difficult stuff. It is not always fun and definitely not always easy.
During couples counseling, Maren commits to each partner to provide a place where they can feel safe and be heard. She works with the couple to identify their individual needs and how they can better meet those of their partner. She looks at factors such as family history, personality differences, and patterns in communication to pinpoint ways that each partner can improve their relationship.
Maren is Level 1 Gottman Method trained and is in the process of completing her AASECT Sex Therapist certification.
For change to happen, both partners must be willing to look at themselves and to put in some work.
Speciality: Marginalized & Unique Family Structures
Maren is passionate about supporting marginalized and unique family structures. This includes but is not limited to working with LGBTQIA+, Ethically Non-Monogamous, and/or Polyamorous families. She is comfortable in engaging in conversations about kink/BDSM. She has experience supporting clients who are exploring their gender identity. If you fall into one of these categories, it is essential to the therapy process to have a therapist who is educated, competent, and comfortable working with these themes and topics.
