Simone works with individuals and couples across the lifespan. She has a passion for working with clients facing moments of life transition (move to a city, new relationship, job/relationship loss) as this can bring about symptoms of anxiety, depression, or even stir up some old trauma. Simone also has a passion for educating and counseling individuals wishing to explore their desires or sexuality in alternative lifestyle relationships such as polyamory, swinging, ethical-nonmonogamy, and BDSM/KINK. While these relationships have become increasingly popular, not many counselors are kink-knowledgeable, and Simone is not only kink-knowledgeable, but also part of the community herself.
A trauma informed therapist, Simone's approach to counseling is very conversational. She uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing to assist clients with accepting or tweaking things within their current situation that no longer serve them, or may be causing distress. She works to help her clients understand their physical, emotional, and external responses to stressors and problem solves with her clients to help them to achieve the response they want to have.
Simone's first priority when with a new client is ensuring they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. She is committed to maintaining an inclusive practice and welcomes clients from all walks of life.
