I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY (D-008137) and Licensed Professional Counselor in PA (PC-013511) located in Central NY state.
I have worked much of my time in the specialty of substance use disorders and have seen healing and growth in patients in that area as well as healing from relational and mortality-based grief. Throughout my life and careers, I have had the opportunity to gain experience and develop friendships within the kink, ENM, and LGBTQIA2+ communities, learning how these groups of individuals experience a significant amount of invalidation and marginalization from lack of knowledge, experience, and empathy of other professionals. Sometimes, these identities want to be explored, and sometimes they're not the focus of your therapy - that's completely up to you and I'll meet you in what you need from me.
We all need a safe space to process our own emotions, regardless of the differences in our experiences, including those that might contribute to us being different than our peers, and lending toward isolation. This includes you. You deserve the space and the support, too.
