I grew up in Homer, Alaska and completed my educational journey outside of the state, receiving an AS in Psychology and Women's Studies, a BS in Health Psychology from Bastyr University and a Master's of Social Work from University of Central Florida. I am in the process of becoming a licensed sex therapist, and have completed trainings in HAES and TBT-S Level 1 & 2.
Throughout the 20+ years I have worked in the mental health field, I have worked with marginalized populations and clients in many stages of life who struggle with issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, disordered eating patterns/eating disorders and other impulse control issues.
I specialize in LGBTQIA2+ folks, whether starting or in the middle of their queer/transitioning/identity development journey. I also work to support individuals struggling with identity and relationships, including poly, ethical non-monogamy and kink/fetishes. I am available to write WPATH letters when appropriate, and I am proudly part of the GALAP network. I also specialize in individuals with eating disorders, and frequently attend conferences to stay current on the newest techniques to help individuals find peace with food and their bodies.
I have always had a deep passion for LGBTQ2IA+ equity and equality, fat and sex positive viewpoints and primarily work from a feminist/queer/narrative theory lens. I identify as a queer, gender fluid and polyamorous person, and am always trying to be aware of my power and privilege both in and out of the office. In my spare time, I volunteer on a local board of directors, garden, spend time with my family, and have multiple schemes for building projects brewing. I love to read YA vampire and post-apocalyptic novels, and am an aspiring writer of the genre myself :)
I am currently licensed in Alaska, Indiana and Oregon and am in the process of being licensed in Washington. I am on track to obtain my Sex Therapy certification and licensure by fall of 2024.
