Janellia holds a master's degree in social work and takes a social justice and holistic approach to mental health counseling. Her main priority is to meet clients where they are and assist them in achieving their goals. Using a client-centered approach, Janellia draws from multiple modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Janellia has experience working with individuals from diverse ethnicities, ages, genders, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. She is extremely passionate about the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and non-traditional spirituality communities.
Janellia's hobbies include spending time with her family and dog, listening to music, and spending time in nature. She identifies as Black, queer, and gender non-conforming. Janellia grew up in Boston, MA, and considers it home, but she loves traveling. Her goals include pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work after her residency. Janellia is deeply spiritual and enjoys meditation, herbalism, collecting crystals, reading tarot and oracle cards.
