Business Description

I'm a queer cisgender male therapist who welcomes every part of every client into the therapy room. I encourage folks to share what they think might be unshareable. I work with couples, individuals, and polycules around relationships, communication, identity, sex, and sexuality. I'm queer-, gender-, trans-, kink-, poly-, nonmonogamy-, and fetish-affirming/celebrating. My approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and relational... I believe people have answers within them. My work is to join a person on their journey and bring my love, care, directness (when appropriate), and disclosure (also when appropriate) to help people achieve the life they want.

Relationship therapy

Navigating the complexities of relationships can be challenging. And it can be especially tricky to find fulfillment when the relationships we want don’t align to what society tells us is “supposed to be”. If you haven’t had any positive models for the types of relationships you want, relating to your significant others can feel irritating, terrifying, or anywhere in between. I’m here for you and relationship therapy can help.

One of the things I appreciate most about relationship therapy is that the person or people you're most likely concerned about will be sitting right there with us, and the therapy room becomes a space to share things you may not have been able to share with a partner before. Each of you can address issues directly, clarify confusion through dialogue, and speak for yourselves. The elimination of guessing, assuming, and mind-reading what a partner wants or needs and can lead to increased trust, respect, care, understanding, and love.

Individual therapy

You don’t have to navigate this world alone. Therapy is a space where you can find support and not have to face your challenges by yourself. In individual therapy, we’ll create a space where you can openly share what’s going on for you without fear of judgment. I may ask questions or encourage you to dive deeper into your thoughts and feelings. I may make suggestions and will share my observations, but you’re not obliged to take them or agree with them.

I try to be mindful of the various systems you operate within as you bring them into the room. These can include your family, friends, household, colleagues, and neighborhood, as well as broader societal systems such as racism, sexism, capitalism, transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of oppression. These contexts are constantly impacting you, so I believe it can be beneficial to bring them into our work together.

The relationship between you and your therapist is key to your healing, so it’s important you feel we are a good match. I’m always open for feedback and will check in with to see how you think your treatment is going.
