I'm a sex and body positive, kink-aware, trauma informed, minority and polyamory friendly therapist. I offer a compassionate, judgement-free, anti-oppressive space to all my clients. I'm most interested in helping people improve their quality of life (whatever that looks like for them) and to use their bodies and sexuality in ways that supports and nourishes them, rather than causing shame and suffering.
Because the people I work with are so diverse, I collaborate with each client to tailor a treatment plan that fits with their goals and personality. I do not subscribe to any one form of therapy: As an integrative psychotherapist, I use a range of approached and techniques. Some of the approaches I use most often include mindfulness and gestalt, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and narrative therapies. However, you are in charge of your therapy: I will always give you options and ask your preferences.
I grew up and received my first degree (Bsc – Biomedical science and genetics) in Australia: This has given me a strong understanding of biological and inherited factors involved in people’s challenges, but also showed me how limiting the medicalized perspective can be. Therefore, I understand my clients through consideration of social, societal, personal, spiritual, and trauma-related factors also. I'm gay, and have lived experience of anxiety and identity issues. If you have questions or concerns about therapy, I'd be happy to speak with you to discuss your options and offer guidance.
