I offer non-judgmental, LGBT, polyamory and kink-aware criminal defence representation. I specialise in defending sexual offences, firearms, possession with intent to supply, robbery and other serious cases at Crown Court level. I also attend cases at the police station and Magistrates' Court to provide representation and assistance. I am a psychotherapist and counsellor working with individuals and registered with UKCP. I use an integrative approach built on a psychosynthesis model that enables me to address all levels of clients' wounding and facilitate their innate drive to healing. Like just about anything else sexuality can get caught up in our wounding. More often sexuality is nothing to do with the issues clients bring. My approach seeks to heal the underlying wound without making a particular issue of sexual choices. If sexuality is involved in the work successful therapy would free you to enjoy it more fully; healing as I see it is more likely to increase than to reduce the range of sexual choices. I am very aware that societal attitudes often cause or increase distress which counselling or therapy may help relieve. In this way too healing increases the range of choices open to us. I work integratively, incorporating methods from different approaches in order to effectively tailor the counselling work for each individual client, but with a psychodynamic emphasis. This works by me facilitating the client to revisit and reinterpret past experiences in order to identify significant events and the formation of attitudes, reactions and behaviours. People may seek therapy for a number of reasons - they may have a specific issue which is troubling them, they may be frustrated by repeating patterns of destructive behaviour, they may have low self-esteem and feel hopeless, they may struggle to form or maintain meaningful relationships, they may have issues around trust and intimacy, they may feel overwhelmed by anxiety or fear, they may feel a sense of dissatisfaction with their life but not know how to change it, they may have a mixture of issues or different issues.
