I am an openly queer and transgender clinical mental health counselor. I have experience and knowledge surrounding LGBTQIA+ identities, non-monogamous relationships, sex work, and many more marginalized groups. I strive to create a safe environment for you to be authentic to yourself.

My counseling practice is located near Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines. I am considered a pastoral counselor so I can not accept insurance however I try to keep my rates low. I have many friends within the lifestyle and I understand that it can be hard to find someone to open up to that you can trust. I also know that many have to live this side of their life in secret. Even though I am a "Christian" counselor, I still am very open to discussing situations that involve kink, infidelity, etc with an open mind. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) who provides psychotherapy to children, partners/couples, and families. I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and my undergrad work included Child Development/Early Childhood Education. My interest is in providing therapy to enhance your knowledge and experience of self and others. I was raised in rural Iowa, and spent 20 years in California where I was an active member of various queer, non-monogamy/poly/relationship anarchy, and kink communities. I created and led several support groups for non-mainstream families, couples, and individuals. I am also experienced in multi-ethnic families, adoption, and step-parents. My approach to therapy combines addressing the underlying dynamics that has created the current situation and realistic direction on how to navigate specific challenges. Together, we create a safe space of acceptance and support to explore the joys and trials of living a unique and valuable non-mainstream existence. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to accompany you, your partner/s, your children, and your family on this amazing journey of enhancing and maintaining human connection.
