I am licensed professional counselor covering the Great Lakes Bay Region and based at Family and Children's Services in Midland. I am happy to offer services to a wide range of clientele and specializes in LGBT, gender, Kink, Poly and sexuality issues. I have served the area LGBT community with deep respect as an advocate, educator, therapist, clinician and friend. Founded in 1925 Family and Children's Services (FCS), located in Midland, Michigan, is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian, multi service agency specializing in quality treatment, education and support services. Since inception, FCS has continued to develop new programs and initiatives to meet needs identified in the community. Our mission is to inspire hope and well-being for people of all ages by providing counseling, education and support. Family and children's Services is a nonprofit organization with a sliding scale fee. · Facilitates support groups for people who are questioning or identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender or allies to receive support and information with a goal of promoting health and well-being and reducing risk through acquisition of skills in building self-esteem, healthy life styles and relationships, including strategies to deal with family rejection, social isolation and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

My name is Morgan Durocher (she/her) and I am a cisgender, LGBTQIA+, kink, and non-monogamy/polyam competent and allied therapist. I have specialized experience in working with humans who identify as LGBTQIA+, kinky, or who are polyamorous/non-monogamous. I offer therapy from the belief that every person is unique, and therefore it is my goal to meet every client as they are, and work together to find what may best meet their needs. I bring a somatic, mindfulness approach that focuses on compassion and non-judgment. I believe that re-integrating the body and mind into therapy can provide tangible ways for clients to relax into a place where healing can begin, particularly for folx who have felt marginalized by societal norms, their families, or their communities.

According to state law, Liberal Friendly Counseling provides services to people located in Michigan. I specialize in relationship counseling, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, journal counseling, and more. I offer a sliding scale fee schedule with proof of income. Potential clients will be screened for appropriateness for all types of counseling services that I provide. I am a Limited License Professional Counselor and trained and proficient in motivational interviewing as well as relationship counseling. I have experience with liberal minded folks such as within the LGBTQ, polyamorous, and KINK communities.

I see people and their experiences within the context of larger systems and have an understanding of how many of those systems can be oppressive and cause the very problems clients seek therapy for. My treatment framework is systemic, Trans affirmative, and anti-oppressive. Areas of focus include relationship issues, parenting, sexuality and gender, and couple/family adjustments. I am sex positive, sex worker and kink aware. I have experience working with polyamorous and non monogamous folks.

I am an LPC and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in Clinton Township, MI. I meet with clients in the office or via telehealth throughout Michigan.

I am a graduate of Michigan State University with more than 25 years of social work experience at the Master's level. I have recently begun a part time private practice. I have spent the majority of my practice in the medical or mental health field. I am experienced with mood disorders as well as bipolar and schizophrenia. I have worked with persons overcoming serious illness, grief and loss. I have trained in the field of trauma. I am comfortable in working with persons of all ages and gender, meeting a client where they are at and helping each individual find the place and time to recover is my primary focus. I bring skills in the areas of communication, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy and some Dialectical Behavioral treatment activities. A client can expect from me a plan that will include communication and expectation as well as respect for the clients supports and strengths. As a therapist I expect client to bring honesty and willingness to help me understand what is and isn't working for them. Financing is through the insurance I accept (which is still being negotiated) and private pay.
