I frequently utilize hypnosis in my work, which typically results in quicker and oftentimes more dramatic improvements than traditional talk therapy or coaching alone.

I am a sex-positive and kink-informed therapist. I wish to support all individuals, partners, families, and more in their congruent identities, lifestyles, interests, and sexualities. As a couple and family therapist, I believe in examining not just my clients, but their relationships, broader contexts, and systems to understand and help them. I work primarily from a postmodern narrative, feminist, and person-centered approach.

The Program in Human Sexuality (PHS) promotes the sexual and gender health of Minnesota, the nation, and the world through preeminence in research, education, clinical service, and advocacy. Our clinic - The Center for Sexual Health - promotes the sexual and gender health of individuals, couples, and families of all backgrounds and ages by providing assessment and treatment. Jennifer A. Vencill, PhD, LP, is an assistant professor, licensed psychologist, and coordinator of the Relationship & Sex Therapy program at PHS. Dr. Vencill's clinical work has included psychotherapy and assessment experience in community clinics, university counseling centers, and both inpatient and outpatient medical settings. Her clinical interests include sexual health and functioning, gender and sexual identity development, relationship and intimacy concerns, alternative relationship structures, and sexual trauma/abuse recovery. Dr. Vencill sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Positive Sexuality and is past president of the Society for the Psychology of Women's Section on Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University and was the first Michael E. Metz Postdoctoral Fellow in Couples' Sexual Health at the University of Minnesota.

Brittney is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker with experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. Brittney is a kink aware professional and LGBTQIA affirmative. Brittney uses she/her pronouns. In her free time, Brittney enjoys spending time with her family and numerous critters. Brittney is also an avid Harry Potter fan and will not hesitate to work a Harry Potter reference into any conversation.
