About me: I am a kink-knowledgeable, licensed psychotherapist with a Master's degree from NYU and post-graduate training in CBT at the world-renowned Beck Institute. My kink-knowledge was cultivate through a graduate school internship + 5 years of post-graduate employment as a psychotherapist, staff supervisor, and head of the internship program at Gay Men's Health Crisis - the nation's oldest HIV/AIDS service organization. Also. I worked for 3 years at the Institute for Human Identity - providing psychotherapy services for adults at New York's premier LGBTQ affirmative psychotherapy and training center. As a certified cognitive therapist I work with clients who are dealing with anxiety and depression addictive disorders communication problems and life transitions. Particular areas of interest and specialty include: treatment of anxiety depression; gay lesbian and transgender issues; and coping with illness and pain. I enjoy working with clients who have a diverse range of sexual expressions. I enjoy providing a safe, supportive space to discuss & help clients resolve issues related to: sex, gender, sexual identity, dating, mating & relating. My therapeutic approach is active and practical and I work collaboratively with clients. I provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. I provide guidance suggestions and additional resources including recommended activities between sessions.
