I am a therapist with an expertise in Psychoanalysis, CBT, and Mindfulness. I have a PhD in Anthropology. I maintain a multicultural and international practice varied terms of concerns, lifestyles, and goals. I speak Italian and some french and Spanish.

I am a Kink-Aware and experienced psychologist when it comes to understanding and working within non-conformist life-styles and sexualities, including - but not limited to - the LGBTQ and BDSM communities. While working within a wide range of issues, I have special expertise in (transgenerational) trauma, issues related to 'otherness' and stigma. I have a PhD from Germany (2008) and completed psychoanalytic training in New York City (2015). My background is in clinical psychology, psychoanalysis and the social sciences. I have widely published on issues of racism, anti-Semitism and sex/gender in professional journals and books. I provide individual psychotherapy in English and German (and am also fluent in French).

I am a kink and lifestyle knowledgable practitioner of Reiki, life coaching, chakra balancing, Tarot reading, and more in the Central New York region. Many of my services can also be done by phone, video chat, and/or email, so distance appointments are possible! After suffering the worst trauma of my life, I went on a spiritual journey and found some new talents. Being a community leader, I heard from many of my friends that there was a struggle to find kink and poly friendly providers in the area, and suddenly I found my true calling. Pulling from my newly grown intuitive skills, my recently acquired Reiki certification, my educational background in psychology, and my work experience in counseling and also in the law, I decided to begin a practice providing a variety of services to both those in and out of the lifestyle, but with an emphasis on my lifestyle knowledge and experience. I received my BA, MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Rochester. During my undergraduate years, I also studied voice at the Eastman School of Music. After graduation, I worked with maltreated adolescents at the Mt. Hope Family Center, where I later began research to better understand how beliefs about control relate to clinical symptomatology in high-risk youth. After completing a Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester Counseling Center (UCC), I joined the faculty as a Staff Psychologist and ultimately became the Director of UCC until I resigned in 2012 to pursue full time private practice. During my 10+ years in college mental health, I provided supervision and consultation to many professionals who were in training to learn the practice of psychotherapy. I also provided consultation and educational workshops to many diverse individuals and groups of faculty and staff on the University of Rochester campus and the broader community. I am a NYS Licensed Psychologist (#014419) and a Certified Group Psychotherapist (National Registry of Group Psychotherapists). I am a member of the American Psychological Association, American Group Psychology Association, Rochester Area Group Psychologist Association, and the Genesee Valley Psychologist Association. My approach to therapy is integrative. I utilize various theories and approaches to maximize the opportunity for growth, learning and change. I treat each individual as unique and develop the right treatment plan for you with your collaboration. The foundation of successful psychotherapy is in the relationship between the therapist and the client. I encourage open dialogue about the therapy relationship and process throughout the course of working together. I am compassionate and supportive while also providing honest feedback and insightful challenges. I am both proactive and interactive in my approach while listening closely and deeply.
